ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Material Handler is a support role for our large-scale data center construction project in Memphis, Tennessee. You will ensure construction, engineering, and trades teams have the materials they need every day. This position involves working directly in the field with planners, superintendents, technicians, and contractors to receive, stage, and deliver materials arriving at the site.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Interface with construction, engineering, and trades teams to identify and eliminate material bottlenecks in the field

p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Maintain clean, organized, and safe delivery and staging areas

p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Receive, pick up, and deliver materials to multiple work areas across the data center campus and surrounding sites

p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Stage and transport materials for daily work packages and project milestones

p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Operate material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, telehandlers, etc.) and maintain required operator qualifications

p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Build and maintain staging/delivery locations as needed, including assembling shelving, posting signage, reorganizing inventory, relocating materials, and properly disposing of trash, packaging, and scrap

p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Expedite critical materials to meet construction schedules and completion dates

p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Use inventory and scheduling systems to manage, prioritize, and fulfill material requests from work packages

p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Track and manage incoming deliveries and outgoing materials to ensure on-time availability at the point of use

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">High school diploma or equivalency certificate

p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Experience operating a forklift and/or other material-handling motorized vehicles/equipment

p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">2+ years of experience in a construction, warehousing, manufacturing, or logistics environment

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Experience reading and understanding bills of materials, packing lists, or construction drawings

p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Strong communication skills for coordinating with site teams, vendors, and drivers

p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently with minimal supervision

p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Ability to rapidly shift priorities in a high-paced, high-volume construction environment

p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Experience on large-scale construction, data center, warehouse, or industrial building projects

p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Mechanical aptitude or prior experience as a technician or equipment operator

p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Proficiency with computers, spreadsheets, and inventory/warehouse management software

p]:inline" data-streamdown="list-item">Experience handling work orders, material requests, or RFIs in a construction or logistics setting
