Release notes:

  • Separate strongSwan secret output from ordinary file rendering, preserving

atomic mode-0600 writes and in-memory previews with explicit regression coverage.

  • Fixed ordinary apply rejecting multiple static tunnels sharing a remote prefix.

Verification preserves the existing last-enabled-tunnel route selection, rejects stale routes on superseded interfaces, and distinguishes kernel-connected inner subnets. Route writing, historical ownership, recovery formats and HA are unchanged.

  • Fixed apply showing a traceback for missing configuration environment

variables. Ordinary and HA admission now reports the missing names and a same-shell setup hint, then exits nonzero before locks or deployment work.

  • Fixed bootstrap health reporting an inactive agent as running. The message

now requires an exact successful active service result.

  • Quoted the validated management SSH key in ordinary and HA cloud-init so

YAML-sensitive comments cannot alter its type or contents. The existing pre-provisioning single-key authentication contract is preserved.

  • Fixed vm-ha rejecting the exact managed SSH trust import required by its

ordinary-to-HA migration plan. Migration now includes that publication in the existing digest approval and apply revalidation; unrelated trust repairs and destructive plans retain their explicit prerequisites.

  • Stabilized migration approval across dry-run, replanning and execution when

the absent standby needs a generated SSH identity. Approval binds retained trust and scoped generation intent; dry-run stays read-only and execution still publishes and verifies exact host pins.

  • Fixed migration's final intent check dropping the approved ordinary handoff

evidence from its digest. The guarded reservation and fresh cloud observation now compose the same approval state; real cloud drift still blocks migration.

  • Fixed ordinary reapply rejecting inactive optional URL dependencies in installed

package metadata. Environment and extra markers are evaluated before the URL policy; active URL dependencies still require a separately built wheel set.

  • Fixed ordinary first apply rejecting a freshly bootstrapped gateway. Planning

admits a process-free management restart wait for an approved, journaled stop, and verifies absent optional FRR failure handlers through systemd metadata. Executable handlers and unresolved jobs remain blocking. Agent services wait for the first resolved configuration before starting.

  • Fixed existing gateways with missing boot-disk evidence being classified as

new VMs. Ordinary and HA planning now inspect the exact attached disk, preserve valid renamed disks, and stop before deployment on missing or inexact evidence.

  • Fixed ordinary SSH deployment exceeding Linux's single-argument limit after

adding route ownership checks. The complete runner and request now use bounded stdin transport within the existing remote deadline.

  • Fixed approved ordinary retries getting stuck after verification was saved but

the final reply was lost. Each active mutating operation now publishes its own retirement binding before completion; read-only unchanged checks remain inert.

  • Fixed ordinary static routes left behind when tunnels are removed, disabled,

reordered or changed to BGP. Preview and existing disruption approval now bind exact historical ownership and route removals; cleanup precedes interface reuse. Durable operation evidence preserves interrupted updates and later absence verification. Existing public configuration, last-applied state and operation journal formats remain compatible; interfaces and unrelated routes are preserved.

  • Fixed ordinary command completion to require bounded leader and descendant

settlement before retiring its operation evidence. Uncertain process identity or surviving writers keep the guard unresolved.

  • Ordinary verification now rejects stale routes on configured static tunnel

interfaces. Routing cleanup skips flushing an already empty table 220, avoiding a false failure when only its policy rule remains.

  • Fixed ordinary-to-HA migration rejecting its own approved handoff. Package

verification now separates stable predecessors from runtime admission, and interrupted handoffs resume under their actual ordinary or HA owner.

  • Added approved package repair for the retained host of an unfinished HA

conversion, including damaged product imports. Exact locks, raw effect evidence, durable startup exclusion and an independent cold guard preserve existing HA authority. Retries cover completed writes, first startup and lost replies; completed handoffs do not impose repair locks on healthy gateways.

  • Fixed raw gRPC allocation lookup serialization for the supported Nebius SDK

>=0.3.18,<0.4.0 range (issue #190).

  • Fixed FRR bootstrap account ordering and required-step error propagation for

newly created VMs. Failed provisioning, incomplete targets, and readiness or deployment failures now prevent apply success (reviewed from PR #179).

  • Added compatible in-place apply planning, exact disruption approval, preserved

compatible dependencies, and verification without deployment effects for healthy unchanged gateways. Existing HA lifecycle and fencing owners remain authoritative; previous-release agents can take the approved upgrade path.

  • Ordinary apply now uses a bounded serialized transaction and exact agent

confirmation after required local checks, with partial-progress failure reports. Added correct firewall interface naming for XFRM links with a parent suffix.

  • Fixed selected dependency upgrades over distro packages without uninstall

records, while retaining normal replacement of pip-owned versions. HA replacement planning no longer binds new Compute to a retired guest's state.

  • Fixed ordinary timeout admission with a durable operation journal, typed

systemd job tracking, networkd convergence checks, and guarded management/CLI writers. Uncertain work blocks further mutations until settlement and fresh approval; no automatic replay, rollback, or reboot is introduced.

  • Preserved previous-release upgrades with management quiescence, persistent

startup admission, ordinary service dependency variants, and a guarded handoff to existing HA authority. Added real Ubuntu systemd/networkd PR and release gates.
