OpenAI and Oracle are bringing Oracle applications and data into ChatGPT and powering new Oracle products and services with OpenAI models and products. Together, we aim to help businesses use AI to run core operations, build better applications, and strengthen security.
This builds on our commercial relationship across the OpenAI API, ChatGPT Work, and Codex. Oracle reported 130,000 active ChatGPT users and more than 95,000 active Codex users. Its recruiting team uses ChatGPT Work for market research that once took two to four days to compile, with preparation now taking 15–20 minutes.
OpenAI and Oracle share a vision for an agent-ready enterprise where people and AI agents work across business applications in one connected environment. Our goal is to make Oracle software easier to discover, use, and manage, with simpler administration, unified sign-in, and access governed by each organization’s permissions and approvals. This would help businesses scale AI across core operations and get more value from the software they already use.
Working with Oracle in ChatGPT
Oracle is developing Oracle AI Workspace to bring that vision into ChatGPT through integrations with Oracle applications and data. The goal is to let people describe what they need to accomplish, find the right information, and complete approved business workflows in one place.
For example, a new finance team member could use ChatGPT to investigate costs, understand purchasing decisions, and identify what remains before month-end close. The intended experience would bring information from finance, procurement, and planning applications together, helping more employees use Oracle software within their organization’s permissions and approvals.
Bringing AI to Oracle’s products
Alongside Oracle AI Workspace, Oracle is announcing updates and new offerings built with OpenAI models and tools:
- Oracle AI Security Mesh is designed to help customers find and fix vulnerabilities in applications and infrastructure using OpenAI cyber models. Oracle manages the testing infrastructure, helping customers put these capabilities to work safely and within their authorized scope.
- Oracle AI SMB Bundle combines ChatGPT Business and Codex with Oracle applications and recurring Oracle Cloud Infrastructure credits to help small businesses build products and manage operations.
- Oracle App Composer is designed to help teams build apps with Codex and other AI tools, connect them to approved Oracle data and workflows, and share them across their organization. Oracle manages deployment on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, with company permissions and access controls built in.
Access OpenAI through Oracle Marketplace
Oracle customers in the U.S. can purchase access to the OpenAI API, Codex, and ChatGPT Work through Oracle Marketplace, using existing procurement processes and eligible Oracle Universal Credits.
